Key Qualifications:
- Active Kansas Special Education Certification (KS SPED Cert) is required
- Experience working with emotional or behavioral disorders and/or students with functional/life skills needs strongly preferred
- Ability to manage classroom behaviors while fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with staff, families, and students
- Adaptable approach to tailoring lesson plans and teaching strategies to individual student needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction in alignment with IEP goals
- Track student progress and document outcomes in a timely manner
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including counselors, therapists, and general education teachers
- Build trusting relationships with students to encourage confidence and growth
- Participate in ongoing staff meetings, training, and family conferences
