Key Qualifications:
- Valid LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist I) licensure for grades 9-12
- Strong background in high school special education
- Ability to create engaging, individualized learning plans
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with staff, students, and families
- Prior experience with diverse student populations preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs and abilities
- Design and deliver instruction in accordance with curriculum standards and special education best practices
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, counselors, and parent/guardian teams to support student progress
- Regularly assess student growth and adjust teaching strategies as necessary
- Foster an inclusive, positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and self-advocacy
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and regulatory requirements
Position Details:
- High school caseload (grades 9-12)
- Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00 pm
- Contract position for the new school year
