Special Education Teacher - Evanston, Illinois

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for Special Education Teachers passionate about making a meaningful difference. Two full-time positions are available, both supporting students in a nurturing school environment near Evanston, IL, beginning August 19th, 2026. These roles offer a fantastic chance to inspire young learners and collaborate with caring colleagues while supporting inclusive education models.

Position #1 focuses on Pre-K and Kindergarten, emphasizing inclusion/push-in support for a caseload of 11 students across the full school year.
Position #2 serves students from Pre-K through 5th grade, with 12 children on the caseload for the entire year. Bilingual (Spanish) skills are highly valued for this opening, but not mandatory.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
• LBS1 endorsement
• Experience teaching students with varying abilities in inclusive and/or push-in settings
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Bilingual (Spanish) proficiency is a plus for both roles, especially the second position
• Commitment to fostering a supportive, equitable classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to students according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Maintain clear and positive communication with families and team members
• Support students' social, emotional, and academic growth
• Monitor, report, and document progress toward IEP goals
• Foster an inclusive classroom culture and advocate for student needs
