Special Education Teacher | Evanston, Illinois

Make a lasting impact in the lives of high school students as a Special Education Teacher during the 26/27 school year. This full-time, contract position offers you the opportunity to support a manageable caseload of 10–15 learners, teaching both inclusion and resource classes and playing an integral role in their academic and personal growth.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate Special Education endorsements
• Experience or strong interest in working with high school students in a special education setting
• Ability to manage caseload responsibilities, including writing IEPs, progress monitoring, and required documentation
• Commitment to collaboration, communication, and ongoing professional development

Role Responsibilities:

• Teach 3 inclusion classes and 2 resource classes, providing differentiated instruction and support
• Maintain and manage your own caseload, overseeing IEP development, documentation, and progress reporting
• Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, ensuring student needs are met and goals are tracked
• Utilize designated preparation periods and enjoy a duty-free lunch each school day
• Collaborate with a Special Education Case Manager, who will oversee compliance and offer departmental guidance and support
