Special Education Teacher - Evanston, IL

Step into a meaningful role as a contract Special Education Teacher supporting early elementary students. Conveniently situated near Evanston, IL, this opportunity runs from ASAP through the end of the school year. As part of this engaging position, you’ll work with a close-knit caseload of 7-8 students in grades K-2, focusing on those with developmental disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD, all within a single supportive school site.

Key Qualifications:

• Possession of an active LBS1 certification
• Demonstrated experience working with primary (K-2) grade levels, ideally as a lead teacher
• Skilled in implementing differentiated instruction and behavior intervention plans
• Background supporting students with a range of needs, including developmental disabilities, autism, and ADHD
• Strong communication abilities for collaboration with staff and families

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction tailored to each student’s IEP
• Develop, update, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with related service providers and families
• Use evidence-based strategies to address academic, functional, and behavioral needs
• Maintain accurate records of progress and participation, ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations
• Collaborate with school staff and families to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment
• Participate in IEP meetings, data collection, and multidisciplinary team discussions
