Special Education Teacher - Fairfield, Alabama

Make a meaningful impact this school year supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher working with kindergarten through third grade students. This contract opportunity, full time, offers the chance to engage directly with a small caseload and a supportive team near Fairfield, AL. You’ll work with nine students—six in a self-contained classroom setting and three receiving dedicated pull-out services—ensuring every child receives the personalized support they need to thrive. With the assistance of one paraprofessional, you’ll collaborate to create an encouraging, inclusive learning environment focused on growth and achievement.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state
• Previous work in K-3 or elementary special education environments preferred
• Experience designing and implementing IEPs for diverse learners
• Strong classroom management and collaborative skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver individualized instruction to meet the needs of self-contained and pull-out students
• Develop and monitor progress on IEP goals, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations
• Coordinate with general education teachers, specialists, and paraprofessional to adapt curriculum and instruction
• Foster a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom culture where every student’s voice is valued
• Maintain accurate records on student progress and participate in team and IEP meetings as needed
