Special Education Teacher in Fairfield, CT

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students in a middle school resource setting in Danbury, CT. This onsite contract position involves working approximately 30 to 32.5 hours per week, focusing on delivering specialized instruction tailored to diverse learner needs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Deliver specialized instruction and support for students with disabilities in a middle school resource classroom
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting methods to maximize learning outcomes
• Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment promoting student growth and independence
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure comprehensive student support

Qualifications:

• Valid Connecticut Educator Certification with Special Education endorsement required
• Experience working as a Special Education Teacher within a middle school setting preferred
• Strong understanding of special education laws, practices, and instructional strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and staff
• Ability to manage a caseload with organization and professionalism
