The role runs from mid-September 2026 through June 2027, offering a consistent weekday schedule—Mondays through Thursdays, 9am to 2pm, for a total of 20 hours each week. Compensation for this position ranges from $37 to $47 per hour, reflecting experience and qualifications.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid 165 or 165 CT Special Education PK-12 license (DSAP licenses not accepted).
- Experience teaching or supporting elementary-aged students in grades K-5.
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and resource room instruction.
- Demonstrated ability to tailor instructional approaches for diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families.
- Organizational skills to manage case files, track student progress, and maintain compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Provide focused, small-group instruction to students with varied learning abilities in a pull-out/resource setting.
- Develop, implement, and update IEPs in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Track student progress, adapt strategies, and document growth and modifications.
- Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and general education teachers to ensure alignment and support.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities as needed.
- Create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
