Grades K - 5 Special Education Teacher in Fairfield, CT

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of elementary students as a part-time Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with K-5 students in a supportive pull-out (resource) classroom setting, ensuring individualized attention and academic support for those who need it most. The position covers 15 hours per week, beginning in mid-September 2026 and continuing through June 2027, providing an excellent balance of flexibility and purpose.

Your pay will reflect your experience and value—you can expect between $37 and $47 per hour.

Key Qualifications:

• Active licensure as a CT Special Education Teacher (165 or 165 PK-12 required; DSAP licenses not accepted)
• Previous experience supporting K-5 students in special education settings
• Deep understanding of IEP processes and progress monitoring
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and small group instruction in a pull-out/resource setting for students with diverse learning needs
• Develop, implement, and update IEPs, tracking measurable growth
• Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to support curriculum access and differentiation
• Build relationships with students to promote confidence, independence, and academic achievement
• Maintain detailed documentation and communicate regularly with families and interdisciplinary teams
