Special Education Teacher in Fairfield, CT

This role focuses on delivering instruction in key academic subjects, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Small class sizes in self-contained settings (approximately 8 students) or engaging resource/co-taught environments (20-25 students) allow for meaningful connections and impactful instruction.

Key Requirements:

• Active Connecticut Special Education Endorsement
• Demonstrated skill in writing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• At least two years of recent, relevant classroom teaching experience

Responsibilities Include:

• Designing and adapting lessons to meet the diverse needs of learners in English, Science, Social Studies, and Math
• Developing and updating IEPs in collaboration with team members
• Monitoring and documenting student progress and presenting at IEP meetings
• Conducting student assessments for academic growth and functional skills
• Collaborating with general educators in co-teaching/resource settings to ensure student success
• Participating in IEP meetings and communicating student performance to families as needed
