Special Education Teacher in Fairport, NY

This role focuses on delivering all core content classes in a 6:1:2 self-contained classroom environment. Key Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with secondary students with complex needs preferred
• Familiarity with self-contained classroom settings (6:1:2 ratio) welcomed
• Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning atmosphere

Primary Responsibilities:

• Lead instruction for core content areas in a secondary-level self-contained classroom
• Adapt lessons and materials to meet diverse learning and behavioral needs
• Create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Collaborate with assistants and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support
• Establish a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, classroom data, and communications
• Engage effectively with families and caregivers to support student achievement

Position Details:

• Contract assignment, Monday to Friday, 7:15 am – 2:45 pm
• Start date: October 13, 2026
• Duration: Until the position is filled internally
• Located near Fairport, NY, in a welcoming and well-resourced school setting
