This contract position offers the opportunity to work closely with high school students and collaborate with supportive colleagues in an engaging and inclusive educational environment.
In this role, you'll work Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, totaling 32.5 hours per week. The initial caseload is around 10 students, with potential adjustments as needs evolve throughout the year. You'll have the chance to develop individualized learning plans, foster student growth, and contribute to a culture of respect, encouragement, and achievement.
What we’re looking for:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Proven experience or training working with high school students (grades 9-12)
- Knowledge of IEP development, case management, progress monitoring, and legal documentation
- Strong commitment to student-centered learning and collaborative teamwork
- Adaptable, organized, and effective in communicating with students, families, and staff
Key responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs
- Develop, implement, and manage IEPs in compliance with federal and state guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and multidisciplinary teams
- Engage families in students’ educational programs and progress
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic and social growth
