Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (state licensure required or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with middle school students, particularly those with life skills needs, strongly desired
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Organized, flexible, and compassionate approach to supporting diverse student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and supports to students with diverse learning and behavioral needs
- Develop and adapt curriculum for life skills instruction, including social, academic, and functional independence
- Conduct assessments and collaborate on IEP goals and progress monitoring
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate where all students are valued and encouraged to succeed
- Communicate regularly with families and team members to ensure coordinated support
- Maintain documentation and compliance with all special education guidelines
