You’ll provide vital support and instruction to students with behavioral challenges, teaching life skills and de-escalation strategies that empower them to thrive in school and beyond.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Valid Nevada Special Education teaching license required
  • Experience working with high school students, particularly those with behavioral needs
  • Background in both general education and special education settings strongly preferred
  • Expertise in teaching life skills, social development, and implementing de-escalation techniques
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
  • Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning and instruction
  • Commitment for the assignment duration: August 24, 2026 through June 4, 2027

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction in both general education and special education classrooms
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
  • Foster a safe, supportive environment that prioritizes emotional wellbeing
  • Teach life skills and strategies for managing challenging behaviors, helping students build confidence and resilience
  • Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to promote the academic and social success of each student
  • Monitor student progress, communicate regularly with families, and adjust interventions as needed
