Special Education Teacher - Fallon, Nevada

Key Qualifications:

• Current Nevada Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
• Experience or interest in both special education and general education environments
• Proven ability to work effectively with high school learners
• Familiarity with supporting students who may display behavioral challenges
• Strong skills in teaching life skills and implementing de-escalation strategies
• Flexible, compassionate approach and strong communication abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of high school students, providing individualized and group instruction
• Develop and implement lesson plans integrating life skills, academic content, and behavior interventions
• Use positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques to support student emotional and behavioral needs
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to create a supportive learning environment
• Attend meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for each student
• Foster a safe, inclusive classroom where every student is encouraged to thrive
