Position Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction to high school students with disabilities.
Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Teach functional academics, life skills, and strategies that promote independence and post-secondary success.
Support students with behavioral needs through positive behavior interventions and de-escalation techniques.
Create a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
Collaborate with families, administrators, related service providers, and educational teams.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
Qualifications
Active Nevada Special Education teaching license required.
Experience working with high school students in special education settings preferred.
Knowledge of behavior support strategies, crisis prevention, and de-escalation techniques.
Strong classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students with diverse learning and behavioral needs.
