Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification, or eligibility for Washington State certification
  • Background working with elementary students (1st–5th grade); preschool experience a plus
  • Experience in independent learning or structured classroom settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with team members and families
  • Commitment to supporting individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Creative problem solver with flexibility to adapt to changing classroom needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily classroom activities for students with a range of learning needs
  • Develop and implement differentiated lesson plans based on IEPs
  • Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages growth and independence
  • Collaborate with paraeducators, therapists, and fellow teachers to maximize student support
  • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding progress and strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant policies
