This contract opportunity offers two paths: either as a Life Skills Teacher with a focus on moderate intervention, or as a Structured Teach (Autism Support) Teacher specializing in mild intervention. Either way, you’ll play a critical role in the lives of learners with diverse needs, fostering growth and independence.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification
- For Life Skills: Moderate Intervention certification and experience working with a range of developmental or intellectual differences
- For Autism Support: Mild Intervention certification and interest or background in supporting students with autism
- Enthusiasm for creating inclusive, adaptive educational settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with staff, students, and families
Your Role:
- In the Life Skills program (hours: 7:20 a.m. – 3:10 p.m.), guide a caseload of approximately 10–15 students, delivering individualized instruction to develop life and academic skills
- In the Structured Teach role (hours: 8:20 a.m. – 4:10 p.m.), work with a similar-sized caseload, utilizing evidence-based strategies tailored for autism support
- Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and learning environments to meet each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
- Foster a positive, safe, and encouraging classroom climate that celebrates every achievement
