Special Education Teacher in Fitchburg, MA

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel supported and valued.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to facilitate student success.
• Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching strategies as needed.
• Provide both direct instruction and consultative support within the inclusion classroom model.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation to comply with regulations and best practices.
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development activities.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current certification in Special Education (appropriate for elementary/K-5).
• Experience working with elementary-age students in inclusive or special education settings.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, procedures, and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
• Ability to create differentiated lesson plans and modify curriculum.
