Special Education Teacher in Florence, SC

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current Special Education teaching license—or in process; emergency or pending certifications strongly considered
• Open to candidates enrolled in Teachers of America or ITeach programs
• Experience or strong interest in working with elementary or preK students with autism and diverse learning needs
• Ability to adapt curriculum, provide differentiated instruction, and foster a positive, structured learning environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with paraprofessionals, colleagues, and families

Responsibilities:

• Teach and manage a self-contained special education classroom: one focusing on elementary students (Kindergarten–2nd grade, Autism) and one on PreK students
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Monitor student progress, modify instruction as needed, and ensure goals are met
• Work collaboratively with paras, administrators, and support staff
• Cultivate an environment that supports student independence, social skills, and academic growth
