Special Education Teacher in Florissant, MO

Bring your passion for student development and commitment to inclusive education to a welcoming district in need of two Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year! These are full-time, contract positions designed for professionals eager to make a genuine impact over the course of the academic year. Each position follows a schedule of 8:15 am to 3:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch, and runs from August 17, 2026 through May 28, 2027 (with minor adjustments possible for snow days).

In this role, you’ll work with a caseload of up to 12-24 students, split between morning and afternoon half-day sessions. You’ll become a vital force in providing a supportive, structured environment where students with special needs can find success and confidence.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to create engaging, differentiated lesson plans
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Collaborative spirit for effective teamwork with staff and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction tailored to each student’s unique needs
• Develop and execute weekly lesson plans that align with curriculum and IEP goals
• Track and report on student progress and goal achievement three times throughout the year
• Lead regular IEP meetings and communicate with the IEP team
• Engage in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and participate in ongoing professional development
• Fulfill additional duties as designated by the district
