Special Ed Teacher - Floyd, Virginia

Position 1 serves a caseload of 17 students from Kindergarten through 7th grade, while Position 2 focuses on a group of 16 students in grades 4 through 7. Both roles provide the chance to collaborate with an experienced team committed to individualized instruction and student achievement.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Proven experience or strong interest in working with K-7th or 4th-7th grade populations
• Comprehensive understanding of special education compliance, IEP development, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and colleagues
• Adaptability and creativity in instructional planning

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and adjust Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs and progress
• Differentiate instruction for a diverse caseload, providing tailored academic and behavioral supports
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to promote student inclusion and achievement
• Cultivate a positive, respectful classroom culture where students feel empowered and supported
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences
