Special Education Teacher - Floyd, Virginia

Seeking two dedicated professionals to make a lasting difference in a supportive school environment as Special Education Teachers. Located near Floyd, VA, these full-time, onsite opportunities offer the chance to work closely with elementary and middle school students, helping them thrive academically and socially.

Available Positions:

• Position 1: Serve a K-7th grade caseload of 17 students.
• Position 2: Support a 4th-7th grade caseload of 16 students.

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching license for the state.
• Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds, preferably in K-7th grade settings.
• Strong knowledge of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and classroom management techniques.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to each student’s strengths and needs.
• Deliver direct instruction in both small group and one-on-one settings.
• Work alongside general education teachers to adapt and modify lesson plans.
• Assess and document student progress towards IEP goals, maintaining accurate records.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation.
• Communicate regularly with families and support teams.
