Special Education Teacher in Folsom, CA

Two contract opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers near Rocklin, CA, working with dedicated teams serving TK–1st grade or 2nd–4th grade students while the regular classroom teachers are on extended leave.

This engaging role allows you to provide high-quality instruction to a manageable caseload of 7 students per classroom, with a focus on individualized learning and growth. Your expertise will help foster an inclusive setting that addresses diverse educational needs.

Qualifications:

• Active California teaching credential in moderate to severe special education (required)
• Previous experience instructing special education students, preferably in elementary grades
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities
• Collaborative mindset to work effectively with support staff, administrators, and families
• Ability to adapt and tailor instruction based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans designed to meet the unique needs of each student
• Monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary
• Maintain detailed records for IEPs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Promote a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere and ensure student safety
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders
• Provide support and guidance to paraprofessionals and classroom aides
