Step into a fulfilling role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher at a vibrant community school. This contract opportunity places you at the heart of 9th-12th grade classrooms where you’ll work onsite with a diverse caseload, providing individualized instruction and tailored behavioral supports. Engage in meaningful collaboration with staff focused on meeting the needs of at-risk learners. The school actively encourages professional growth and offers support for Out of Field Licensure Placement if needed.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching license in EBD, ASD, or ABS (or eligible for Out of Field Placement)
  • Experience supporting at-risk students in an educational setting
  • Demonstrated ability to provide strong behavior interventions and support
  • Collaborative spirit and comfort working closely with multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, engaging learning environment

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with varying abilities and needs
  • Deliver engaging instruction and differentiate curriculum to maximize student growth
  • Collaborate with general education staff, support personnel, and families
  • Apply evidence-based behavioral interventions and classroom management techniques
  • Track student progress, prepare documentation, and participate actively in team meetings
  • Advocate for student needs and contribute to a positive school climate

This contract runs from August 31, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with teaching hours from 7:15 am to 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday, and a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
