Special Education Teacher in Forney, TX

In this full-time role (40 hours per week), you’ll support students in either Life Skills or Resource Math classes, working collaboratively with staff, therapists, and families. The assignment runs from your start date through May 21, 2027, providing consistency and stability to students.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Hold valid Texas Special Education (SPED) Certification
• For Life Skills: core content area certification required
• For Resource Math: SPED and Math or Generalist certification required
• Experience teaching or supporting students with special needs in a school setting strongly preferred
• Compassionate and resourceful, with excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Able to maintain accurate records and individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• Comfortable working with middle school-aged students

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver individualized lessons that foster growth and independence
• Adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse learning needs
• Implement and monitor IEPs to ensure student goals are being addressed
• Work closely with teaching staff, specialists, and families to support student progress
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
