Make an impact by supporting young learners as an Elementary Special Education Teacher in a welcoming school environment near Fort Benning, GA. This contract position offers the opportunity to work full-time (37.5 hours each week) in a dynamic K-2 inclusion co-teaching setting, ensuring every student receives the individualized support they need to shine. You will nurture and guide approximately 15 students, collaborating closely with fellow educators to create engaging and inclusive classroom experiences.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification in Special Education (state-specific credentials required)
- Previous experience in elementary or K-2 settings, particularly with inclusion/co-teaching models
- Strong foundation in creating and implementing IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
- Ability to employ differentiated instructional strategies to address a range of learning needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to partner with general education teachers, families, and other professionals
- Organized, proactive, and passionate about empowering students of varying abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to K-2 students in an inclusion classroom
- Collaborate daily with general education teachers to co-plan and adapt lessons, fostering full student participation
- Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in coordination with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Collect data on student progress and adjust teaching approaches as needed
- Create a positive, supportive, and structured classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with caregivers regarding student growth and learning objectives
