Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid South Carolina certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • Experience working with high school age students in a resource or special education setting
  • Familiarity with Ed Plan or similar special education program management tools preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with families, staff, and administrators
  • Commitment to individualized instruction and differentiated learning strategies

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s unique needs and goals
  • Use data-driven instruction and ongoing assessment to track progress and make adjustments
  • Foster positive relationships and encourage self-advocacy and independence among students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Support classroom management, address behavioral needs, and ensure accommodations are provided
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and areas of growth
