Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with students with mild to moderate disabilities
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated instruction
- Ability to adapt lessons and strategies to meet individual student needs
- Comfortable with both individual and small group instruction
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure effective inclusion
- Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in both pull-out and push-in settings
- Track and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student independence and self-advocacy
- Participate in school meetings, parent conferences, and professional development sessions
- Maintain thorough and compliant documentation in accordance with all policies and regulations
