Make a difference in the lives of middle school students through a dynamic contract opportunity supporting learners with special needs. This full-time position offers two distinct roles at a bustling junior high school: a Special Education Resource Teacher overseeing a caseload of approximately 25-30 students (mild intervention certification required), and a Special Education Essential Teacher working closely with a small group of 10 students (intense intervention certification required). The schedule spans Monday through Friday, with workdays running from 8:20 AM to 3:10 PM.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Indiana teaching license with appropriate Special Education endorsement(s)
  • Certification in mild intervention for Resource role, or intense intervention for Essential role
  • Previous experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a school setting preferred
  • Strong skills in individualized instruction, progress monitoring, and collaboration with general education staff
  • Ability to manage multiple IEPs and provide tailored support to help students meet their academic and developmental goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction aligned with IEP goals and state standards
  • Develop and implement lesson plans adapted for student needs in cooperation with support staff
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including progress reports and compliance with all legal requirements
  • Foster a supportive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Communicate proactively with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams
