Special Education Teacher in Franklinton, NC

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher serving middle and elementary school students. This full-time position spans from ASAP to June 4, 2027, offering a consistent weekday schedule from 7:15am to 3:15pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

In this role, you'll support diverse learners in a middle school self-contained (non-severe) classroom and provide resource instruction for elementary students (grades K-5). Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teacher certification appropriate for grades K-8 (or K-5)
• Experience with self-contained and resource classroom settings
• Solid understanding of IEP processes and documentation
• Skillful at adapting instruction to meet varied student needs
• Strong classroom management and organizational abilities
• Effective communication skills, both with students and multidisciplinary teams
• Passion for fostering academic and social-emotional growth

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction, intervention, and support in both self-contained and resource classroom settings
• Develop, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Modify and adapt curriculum as needed for student success
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
• Create a safe, caring, and inclusive atmosphere that promotes learning and positive behavior
• Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings
