Special Education Teacher - Franklinton, North Carolina

An exciting opportunity awaits passionate educators specializing in special education! This is a contract position for a Special Education Teacher, set within an elementary self-contained classroom environment. Take on a fulfilling role supporting nine young learners alongside two experienced teaching assistants, all within a collaborative school community.

This position is scheduled to start as soon as possible and will extend through June 4, 2027. With 37.5 work hours per week onsite, you'll play an essential part in delivering individualized instruction and empowering students to reach their full potential.

What we’re looking for:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working in elementary self-contained classrooms or similar settings
• Strong classroom management capabilities and collaborative skills
• Dedication to differentiating instruction and creating inclusive learning environments
• Ability to adapt lesson plans to address diverse abilities and learning styles
• Excellent communication with students, families, and team members

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student’s strengths and needs
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and other professionals to provide effective support
• Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and report findings to stakeholders
• Facilitate a positive and structured learning atmosphere where every child feels valued
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding progress and goals
• Participate in team meetings, training, and professional development activities

Compensation for this role is $75 per hour, reflecting your expertise and commitment to delivering high-quality special education services.
