Qualifications:

• Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for licensure
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong knowledge of special education documentation and compliance
• Effective classroom management and behavioral support strategies
• Collaborative approach with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Preferred: Experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, previous self-contained classroom teaching, understanding of ABA principles, and crisis prevention/de-escalation training

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction following state standards and individualized goals
• Utilize evidence-based strategies and positive behavior interventions
• Collaborate with related service providers and direct paraprofessional staff
• Collect and analyze student data, maintain compliance, and foster growth in communication, social, and independent living skills
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
