Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Holds valid Maine 282 certification and CHRC certification.
  • Willingness to complete Safety Care training provided by the district.
  • Experience designing and implementing positive behavioral support plans.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based strategies for supporting students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Knowledge of MTSS frameworks and how they promote student success.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction for K-5 students with special needs in a classroom setting.
  • Implement and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, modifications, and positive behavioral supports.
  • Actively participate in IEP meetings, student support teams, and professional development sessions.
  • Collect data and use progress monitoring tools to tailor interventions and drive student growth.
  • Partner with classroom teachers and specialists to create cohesive, inclusive learning environments.
  • Promote a safe and positive atmosphere, utilizing proactive de-escalation and behavioral support strategies.
