Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential or eligibility for provisional certification.
- Experience (or strong interest) in working with students requiring extensive support.
- Understanding of IEP (Individualized Education Program) processes and a proven ability to design and implement personalized strategies.
- Strong collaboration skills for partnering with support staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Patience, adaptability, and a creative approach to addressing diverse student needs.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing, and safe classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction for students with extensive support needs.
- Develop, modify, and implement IEPs, ensuring that students receive effective, measurable support.
- Create lesson plans tailored to each student’s academic and social/emotional development goals.
- Foster a positive, encouraging atmosphere that helps students build confidence and independence.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and other professionals to maximize student growth.
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and documentation in compliance with all regulations and standards.
- Communicate regularly with families to share progress and strategies for continued success.
