Requirements for Success:
- Current California Special Education Credential with at least Mild/Moderate Authorization
- Previous experience supporting students with a range of needs in K-12 educational settings
- Flexibility to work with students across primary and secondary grade levels, with a preference for middle school experience
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for engaging with families, educators, and school staff
- Passion for advocacy and creating inclusive classroom communities
- Ability to develop, adapt, and implement IEPs to meet individualized student goals
- Commitment to fostering a positive, encouraging, and respectful learning atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction aligned with IEP goals for a variable caseload (K-12)
- Adapt lessons and materials to support unique learning styles and developmental stages
- Collaborate regularly with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and effectively communicate student progress to families
- Support student behavior and social-emotional development using evidence-based strategies
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and district guidelines
- Engage in school-based professional development and team meetings
