Special Education Teacher | Fremont, California

This full-time contract opportunity runs from ASAP through the end of the school year and is based near San Mateo, CA. You’ll work with two middle school Resource Specialist Program (RSP) caseloads, collaborating with educational teams to foster student progress and success.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential (required)
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with middle school students
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and support staff
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students in the Resource Specialist Program (RSP) with mild to moderate disabilities
• Implement and adapt lessons to suit individual IEP goals and diverse learning styles
• Monitor and document student progress; participate in IEP meetings
• Deliver a supportive, structured learning environment that encourages growth and confidence
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Maintain accurate records and meet compliance requirements
