Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Special Education Certification
  • One of the following endorsements is required: Self Contained, Core Subjects, or Generalist (endorsement must be appropriate for the grades listed)
  • Recent experience working within special education classrooms
  • Ability to effectively manage and support students with significant needs, such as those in Life Skills or behavior/autism support settings
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with team members and families
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s strengths and goals
  • Build constructive relationships with students, encouraging both academic and personal growth
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies for students in grades 4th–6th (Life Skills, Draper Intermediate), Life Skills (Dodd Elementary), and Self Contained/Behavior Autism classroom (Dodd Elementary)
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, specialists, and families to coordinate holistic student support
  • Collect data on student progress, adapt instruction, and participate in IEP meetings as required
