Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education (SPED) certification required
- Proven track record as a Special Education Teacher, with experience in self-contained classrooms highly preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment for diverse learners
- Adaptability and organizational skills to manage educational plans and paperwork efficiently
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique learning needs
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction in a self-contained classroom
- Foster social, emotional, and academic growth by creating a safe and supportive classroom culture
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to promote student success
- Utilize data-driven strategies to monitor progress and adjust teaching approaches accordingly
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with district and state policies
- Participate actively in IEP meetings, staff professional development, and ongoing communication with families
