Desired Qualifications:
- Valid South Carolina Special Education Teacher certification, or in pending status
- Experience working with students in self-contained learning disability (LD) classrooms preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Strong classroom management skills and a compassionate, student-centered approach
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for engaging students, parents, and school teams
- Adaptability to meet diverse student needs and adjust instructional strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction in a self-contained LD environment following IEPs and curriculum requirements
- Create a safe, supportive classroom atmosphere to foster learning, growth, and confidence in students with diverse learning needs
- Monitor student progress, assess needs, and maintain accurate records of academic and behavioral data
- Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families to ensure comprehensive student support
- Employ evidence-based strategies to address academic, social, and behavioral challenges
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and professional learning opportunities as needed
