Supervisor Grades 6 - 8 Special Education Teacher - Gaithersburg, Maryland

Step into a dynamic leadership opportunity as an interim Special Education Supervisor/Vice Principal supporting students in grades K-8. You’ll be instrumental in driving positive outcomes for students, staff, and families, overseeing the day-to-day implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and ensuring all facets of compliance with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) standards.

Enjoy a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week), with a commitment beginning immediately and extending through approximately October 2026.

Key Qualifications:

• Maryland Special Education Certification for K-12 is required.
• Preferred: Maryland Vice Principal or SPED Supervisor Certification.
• Demonstrated experience supervising instructional teams and managing educational programs, particularly within the K-8 age range.
• In-depth knowledge of IEP development, scheduling, and the principles of special education compliance and best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for supporting students, staff, and families.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise instructional teams to ensure effective teaching practices.
• Oversee and support the implementation of IEPs for students in grades K-8.
• Develop student schedules and monitor program impact.
• Partner with staff and families to address student needs and promote positive school culture.
• Ensure all programs are in line with MSDE regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the Lower/Middle School Director on strategic educational initiatives.
