Special Education Teacher in Garland, TX

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Valid Texas Special Education (EC-12) certificate
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities
• Ability to complete state-required fingerprinting through the Texas Education Agency (TEA) if not recently done for another public district
• Experience or interest in life skills, autism, or behavioral classrooms preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned to students’ IEPs
• Foster engagement through adaptive curriculum delivery and small group rotations
• Collaborate with classroom staff, therapy teams, and families
• Support students in social-emotional growth and self-advocacy
• Document progress, attend meetings, and participate in ongoing professional development
• Maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom culture
