Special Education Teacher in Garland, TX

Make an impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher working in Functional Life Skills classrooms for PK3–8th grades. What We're Looking For:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (EC-12 or appropriate grade bands)
• Previous experience in a functional life skills or self-contained special education setting preferred
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs that meet the needs of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Comfort working with assistive technologies and adaptive curricula
• Flexible and adaptable—able to work in multiple campus environments

• Plan and deliver engaging instruction for students with varied skill levels and abilities
• Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom focused on practical life skills and academic growth
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education staff
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of student progress and IEP implementation
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and needs
• Participate in ARD/IEP meetings and professional development activities
