Make a difference in the educational experience of students with special needs as a dedicated contract Special Education Teacher. This position supports an elementary-level FASE (Life Skills) classroom, providing direct instruction and encouragement in a collaborative, onsite school setting. Beginning ASAP and extending through mid-December, this opportunity offers a fulfilling way to use your expertise while impacting young learners and their families.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Special Education Certification required, with one of the following endorsements: Self Contained, Core Subjects, or Generalist appropriate to the assigned grade level.
- Experience working in elementary life skills or FASE classroom settings strongly preferred.
- Strong instructional, communication, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for fostering growth, independence, and inclusion among students with diverse needs.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction in a life skills classroom in accordance with IEP goals and district curriculum.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general education staff to promote student success.
- Track and communicate student progress and behavior, adjusting supports and instructional strategies as needed.
- Maintain documentation and compliance with IEP requirements and local/state special education policies.
- Engage positively with families and guardians to support students’ ongoing development and well-being.
