Skills and Experience Desired:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification (TX required)
• Experience teaching in a self-contained or structured learning setting
• Ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum for diverse learners
• Familiarity with direct minutes and inclusion support for special needs students
• Strong classroom management and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a K-3 self-contained classroom serving a combination of students: two with structured learning needs and eight receiving direct minutes
• Collaborate with the paraprofessional for effective delivery of both structured and inclusion minutes
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, closely tracking student progress
• Foster a safe, nurturing environment encouraging social, emotional, and academic growth
• Partner with families, related service providers, and other educators
• Utilize adaptive techniques and differentiated instruction to meet each student’s unique needs
