Special Education Teacher - Gastonia, NC

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification with Adaptive Curriculum endorsement/certification
• Experience teaching students with diverse learning needs, preferably at the high school and/or middle school levels
• Strong communication and organizational skills for collaboration with staff, administrators, and families
• Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction based on individual student IEPs and required accommodations
• Passion for fostering a positive, inclusive, and achievement-oriented classroom culture

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with general education teachers and other support staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are effectively implemented
• Manage, plan, and deliver instruction using principles of adaptive curriculum
• Develop and maintain accurate, current Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Monitor, evaluate, and report student progress, making data-driven adjustments to optimize learning outcomes
• Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and regular team planning sessions
• Support students in developing academic, behavioral, and life skills while adhering to district, state, and federal guidelines
