In this contract opportunity near Gastonia, NC, you’ll play a vital role as an EC Teacher supporting K-2 students in a resource setting. Collaborate closely with a dedicated teacher’s assistant to foster an inclusive learning environment that meets the unique needs of early childhood learners receiving special education services. Your expertise will help shape the educational journeys of a classroom of 16-20 students, providing personalized instruction and developmental support within the general education setting.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for the state
• Previous experience teaching in a resource or inclusion setting, preferably with K-2 age group
• Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
• Ability to adapt curriculum to meet a diverse range of learning needs
• Skilled in collaborating with paraprofessionals, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management abilities
• Compassion, patience, and enthusiasm for working with young children who have special needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to K-2 students in a general education classroom
• Partner with the EC Teacher's Assistant to support students’ academic and social goals
• Develop and execute IEPs in compliance with federal and state requirements
• Continuously monitor progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom culture where every child feels valued and included
• Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and related service providers
