Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher working with early childhood students. This contract position begins at the start of the upcoming school year and extends through June 12, 2027, offering the opportunity to work with young learners ages 3-5 who present a range of disabilities. The principal is flexible and can accommodate candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours, depending on your availability. You’ll be supporting a caseload that fluctuates, but typically includes around 10 students, and you’ll be joining a dedicated educational environment where your expertise is highly valued.

The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood special education and thrives in an age group that lays the foundation for lifelong learning. Preference will be given to those with experience working with students who demonstrate negative or challenging behaviors, as your guidance will be crucial to their progression and success.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Delaware Early Childhood Special Education certification (required)
  • Demonstrated interest in working specifically with early childhood (ages 3-5)
  • Previous experience supporting children with varying disabilities
  • Proven ability to address and manage negative or challenging behaviors
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with families and educational teams
  • Creative, patient, and adaptable to individualized student needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for young learners
  • Deliver instruction and interventions in both individual and small group settings
  • Collaborate closely with other educators, support staff, and families
  • Maintain accurate documentation of progress and participation
  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
