This full-time role calls for a dedicated educator with a strong reading background and in-depth training or certification in specialized reading intervention programs. You'll be working primarily with students in grades 2-4, so previous elementary classroom experience and the ability to differentiate instruction are essential. Your classroom management and leadership abilities will create a structured, nurturing space where positive behaviors are modeled and encouraged.
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Degree in Special Education and appropriate state licensure/certification
- Extensive training or certification in specialized reading programs (such as Wilson, Orton-Gillingham, or similar)
- Experience supporting and adapting instruction for elementary students, specifically within grades 2-4
- Proven ability to differentiate curriculum to meet a range of learning needs
- Strong classroom leadership and organizational skills
- Skilled in implementing positive behavior support strategies
Key responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, individualized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP goals
- Utilize evidence-based reading interventions to build literacy skills
