Special Education Teacher in Glastonbury, CT

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity for experienced Special Education Teachers, supporting students during the 26/27 school year. Two full-time positions are available to make a significant impact in early childhood and elementary education settings from November through early January.

One role is based at an early childhood center, focusing on PreK, with daily hours from 7:45 AM to 3:10 PM, starting November 17 and running through January 8. The second position serves grades K-4 at a STEM Academy, with hours from 7:40 AM to 3:05 PM, commencing November 12 and concluding January 8. Both positions run Monday through Friday and offer the chance to bring your expertise and care to diverse classrooms, working alongside committed education professionals.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state requirements apply)
• Previous experience teaching in a special education setting, preferably at the early childhood or elementary level
• Familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs), classroom management, and differentiated instruction
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt to various classroom environments and student needs

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction aligned to students’ IEP goals
• Support inclusive classroom experiences and foster a positive, supportive atmosphere
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate regularly with families and staff
• Adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student abilities and learning styles
