An opportunity is available for a dedicated Early Childhood Special Education Teacher to support young learners in a self-contained elementary setting. This full-time, contract role involves working with students in a half-day program that focuses on high-needs children, especially those with autism. The position requires expertise in instructional planning, Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, and behavior support within a structured, supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to self-contained classes capped at eight students
  • Develop, write, and facilitate IEPs tailored to each student's needs
  • Utilize the STARS curriculum alongside effective behavior intervention strategies
  • Lead and mentor paraprofessionals in implementing IEP goals collaboratively
  • Assist non-certified team members with IEP documentation and meetings
  • Participate in kindergarten transition IEP meetings starting in January

Qualifications:

  • Current Arizona Early Childhood Special Education License (AZ EC SPED)
  • IVP Fingerprint Card must be included with application materials
  • Extensive experience working with students with autism and other high-need profiles
  • Strong skills in instructional planning and behavior support strategies
  • Experience with the STARS curriculum is preferred
  • Ability to lead paraprofessional teams and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary staff

Location and Schedule:

  • Onsite position located in Glendale, AZ at an elementary school setting
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday with AM and PM sessions; Wednesdays have a rotating schedule
  • Typical hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
