Drive impactful change as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position serving students in various life skills, transition, and structured intensive support programs. This role offers opportunities to work within inclusion and self-contained settings, ensuring that students receive personalized education plans and support tailored to their unique needs. Positions are available across multiple sites within a 30-minute commute from Fairfax, Central, and Hayden, with high-priority placements needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License and a current K-12 Special Education Certificate.
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required).
  • Proven experience supporting students with emotional disabilities and diverse learning needs, including those who are at-risk, limited English proficient, and exceptional.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adhering to federal, state, and district special education guidelines.
  • Familiarity with classroom management for various caseloads: Inclusion/SUCCESS, Practical, CBT (Life Skills/Functional Academics/Transition), STRIVE (Autism/Structured Intensive Support).
  • Willingness to complete Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) training or participate in related staff development.
  • Onsite teaching required—remote options are not accepted.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted, effective instruction and behavioral support in accordance with best practices and program requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess student needs and modify instructional strategies as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records and communicate progress with caregivers and colleagues.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages personal growth and self-regulation.
